Navigating the choices available during the Annual Enrollment Period of Medicare can be difficult for seniors. VISTE is trying to make this time easier by presenting information on this topic during their monthly Coffee and Learn education seminar on Oct. 15.
The SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Medicare program offers free and unbiased Medicare information and counseling, and a SHINE volunteer will be present to provide an educational presentation on how to make an information choice during the Annual Enrollment Period. The SHINE volunteer will answer questions from those in attendance.
SHINE is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the local Area Agency on Aging. Specially trained volunteers assist with Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance questions by providing one-on-one counseling and information. SHINE services are free, unbiased, and confidential.
The VISTE program is being sponsored by the West Central Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
The Coffee and Learn program is open not only to VISTE clients and volunteers but to the public as well.
Reservations are requested by Oct. 10 as seating is limited. Reservations may be made by calling 863.284.0828 x 7 or by emailing: [email protected].
