Our Immediate Needs
HOT MEALS PROGRAM
Many of VISTE’s Hot Meal clients comprise the most frail of the population we serve. Hot Meal clients do not have the means to cook for themselves for various reasons, mostly due to declining health. Sometimes, the volunteer who is delivering the meal may be the only person the Hot Meal client sees each week! This volunteer becomes the eyes and ears for those who may not have anyone else to depend on. Over 400 Hot Meals are delivered two times each week to clients who are unable to prepare food for themselves.
Provide a month of Hot Meals: $15,000

TRANSPORTATION
VISTE drivers make over 900 trips each month, taking clients to medical appointments, the grocery store, and on other errands. VISTE clients rely on these transportation services when they are no longer able to drive.
Provide transportation for a month: $10,000

VISTE VEHICLES
With over 900 trips each month, our vehicles take a lot of wear and tear. In order to keep our vehicles in good operating order, thereby keeping our clients safe, we are in need of reliable cars with a regular maintenance program.
Sponsor a VISTE Vehicle: $20,000
Sponsor a VISTE Cargo Van: $30,000

IN-HOME CARE
Many of our VISTE clients request in-home care such as light housekeeping, 24/7 monitoring, respite care as well as personal care. VISTE partners with other local agencies to provide these services for a nominal cost, but at no cost for our clients.
Provide a month of In-Home Care to VISTE clients: $10,000

SUPPLEMENTAL GROCERIES
The Supplemental Grocery program provides groceries to over 1,500 households each month. Supplemental groceries are distributed to clients who are able to pick up during the first full week of each month. For those clients who are unable to pick up, volunteers help deliver during the third week of each month. The Supplemental Grocery program has grown tremendously since its inception, and ensuring quality product with nutritional value has become a great focus of VISTE’s warehouse operations.
Provide one month of supplemental groceries: $7,000

RAMPS AND HANDRAILS
For our VISTE clients in need of emergency assistance for accessibility, we have a dedicated team of volunteers ready to provide the construction of ramps, increased stair tread, and handrails to help keep our elderly friends mobile and at no cost.

PERSONAL CARE BOXES
Each June and December, VISTE volunteers help pack and distribute over 400 boxes filled with common household items, toiletries, and other necessary supplies to our clients. These boxes are filled to the brim with items that you and I may take for granted but are a blessing to those who receive them.
Provide a month of Personal Care Boxes (disbursed bi-annually): $1,200
