Join us in extending a warm welcome to VISTE’s new Volunteer and Events Manager, Kristen Waters! Originally from Largo, Florida, Kristen has also lived in other locations, including Dublin, Ireland. Kristen joins the VISTE team with extensive experience in the hospitality industry, including ten years in leadership management at Walt Disney parks and resorts in Orlando, with a focus on food and beverage operations and merchandising.
Kristen will oversee all aspects of the volunteer program at VISTE and will also help coordinate special events. She officially joined the VISTE team December 1st but also shadowed former Volunteer Manager Julie McDonald during the recent Thanksgiving Meal Delivery event. Julie left in December to assist her husband at his business.
Before beginning work, Kristen was a VISTE volunteer herself, helping to deliver Hot Meals and supplemental groceries to VISTE’s elderly clients. “I’m so pleased to be working with VISTE,” she said recently. “I was fortunate to be able to work alongside Julie for some initial training before she left, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of VISTE’s wonderful volunteers!”
Kristen and her husband, Lanier, live in Auburndale with their two daughters, ages 10 and 7. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, thrifting, and spending time with family.
