I’m writing to thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas gifts I received. My doorbell rang and I opened it to see the most loving couple standing there with a huge bag of gifts. They came in and we had the most pleasant visit. I never expected such beautiful gifts. Now I’m receiving your lunches every Tuesday and Thursday and am enjoying them so much. You are such an amazing organization. Keep up the good work and God will continue to bless you all.

Got a call from a client today thanking VISTE for the roast beef.  She said she hadn’t had one in several years.  She is immediately letting it thaw and will cook it tomorrow.  Her voice was cracking with appreciation.  Can you imagine?  Wow.

I live out of state and my elderly mother lives alone in Lakeland.  She is on Medicaid, has MS and is unable to leave her home by herself.  VISTE brings her a hot meal two or three times a week which is healthy and not fast food junk. In addition, she is able to get a ride to doctor appointments instead of using Lyft which took a lot of her limited income. If that isn't enough, they brought her a gift bag for Christmas with things she needed. It warms my heart to know there are people out there that invest their time and money every month of the year so that people they don't even know feel loved and cared for. Thank you to everyone who helps make VISTE succeed!

The Transportation Department received a heartfelt thank you from Elsie, listing her drivers by name. She said, ‘God’s helpers, you are!’ She is 89 and uses a walker. The drivers make a huge difference in her quality of life. She doesn’t know what she would do without them! Thank you to Johnnie, April, Marcia, Cliff, Sharon, Dorothy, and Kathy for what you do and the most kind way that you do it!  And, of course, thank you to Rodney for leading the way!

I’m an 86-year-old man in south Lakeland. I make very little, and the things VISTE gives me make a huge difference. I’ve received Thanksgiving meals for three years now. I planted the mums from the last two years, and they are growing well! This year I planted the poinsettia. It’s gorgeous – it has sparkles on it! Everyone I know has passed on, and I have no one now. That’s why VISTE means so much. Please be sure that everyone knows how much I appreciate everything that VISTE does for me.

Ms. P. came in yesterday to thank us for the wonderful Christmas gifts she received from VISTE. As she described the two sweaters she got, she hugged herself to indicate the warmth and softness of them . . . she loved that. I happened to be the one who talked to her about what she wanted from Santa. The only warm thing she had was a hand-me-down jacket, which she was grateful for. But these two new sweaters were just . . . well, she teared up and had goose bumps talking about it. She also told me about the mother and her two little ones who came to deliver the gifts, and that sang to her. She was so touched, again, with tears, so very grateful. Thank God VISTE can make a difference, maybe not to all who need it, but to a lot.
