We Need People Like You


Volunteers are the cornerstone of VISTE’s services. We could not successfully fulfill our mission without our wonderful and dedicated volunteers. Below is an overview of our many volunteer opportunities.

  • Hot Meal Delivery Driver

    The volunteer picks up hot meals from First Presbyterian Church between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  The volunteer is given a list of client names and contact information.  The hot meals are delivered to the client’s homes.  Hot Meals are delivered Tuesday and Thursdays.

  • Supplemental Grocery Delivery Driver

    The volunteer contacts clients prior to delivery; pick up client roster and groceries (a “banana box” of dry goods, plus bread, meat, and whatever fresh produce and/or milk and eggs we have available) from VISTE on designated week, Saturday thru the following Friday (no Sunday delivery); deliver to individual homes; check on the client’s well-being.

  • Office Assistant

    The volunteer will be answering phones, filing, and providing data entry.

  • Warehouse Volunteer

    The volunteer sorts and packs food items and provides all duties necessary to help maintain the VISTE warehouse.  Duties may also include special projects such as bagging, goody bags, flopping bags, and packing produce.

  • Birthday Cake Delivery (Not available at this time due to COVID-19)

    Volunteers pick up decorated birthday cakes from VISTE between 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the 2nd Friday of every month and deliver the cakes to preassigned client's home.

  • Birthday Cake Decorators (Not available at this time due to COVID-19)

    Volunteers will come to VISTE on the 2nd Friday of every month to decorate birthday cakes for clients 90 and over.

  • Birthday Cake Bakers (at home)- (Not available at this time due to COVID-19)

    Volunteers bake birthday cakes for our clients that are 90 years of age or older.  The cakes must be 8-9-inch round cake layers.  The cakes can be any flavor you choose and can be made using packaged cake mix.  Then the layer is cool after baking, pack each cake layer in a gallon size Ziploc type bag with the date baked and flavor written on the bag. They can be brought in frozen to our office during our open hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
